Key Responsibilities :

- Lifting Plan Oversight: Review and approve lifting plans; ensure that all lifts are carried out in strict accordance with the approved method statements and risk assessments.

- Rigging & Equipment Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of rigging gear (slings, shackles, spreader beams) and ensure all heavy-lift equipment is certified and compliant with project standards.

- Safety Leadership: Act as the "Competent Person" for lifting operations, with the authority to "stop work" if any procedure or environmental condition poses a risk to personnel or assets (e.g., high wind speeds, ground stability).

- Site Coordination: Coordinate with heavy-lift contractors, crane operators, and site mechanical teams to manage the movement of large components like turbine rotors, casings, or exhaust ducting.

- Ground Stability Management: Supervise site preparation for crane positioning, including checking ground-bearing capacity and matting/cribbing requirements for heavy crane setups.

- Documentation: Maintain a comprehensive register of all lifting certifications, operator licenses, and completed inspection logs.

Required Qualifications:

- Experience: Experienced in heavy-lift supervision, preferably in power generation, refinery, or heavy industrial construction.

- Technical Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of crane physics, load charts, center-of-gravity calculations, and complex rigging configurations.

- Certifications: [Specify required local certifications, e.g., CPCS Appointed Person, NCCCO, or equivalent].

- Regulatory Compliance: Solid understanding of OSHA (or regional equivalent) standards for cranes and derricks in construction.

- Communication: Ability to lead pre-lift briefings (toolbox talks) and effectively coordinate multi-discipline teams during high-risk maneuvers.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Prior experience specifically with gas turbine component handling (e.g., tandem lifts, precision placement in constrained power island environments).

- Experience with advanced lifting software or CAD for crane logistics.

- Proven track record of managing large-capacity crawler cranes (e.g., 500T+ capacity).
