Key Responsibilities :
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the gas turbine, steam turbine, generator, and auxiliary plant systems from the Central Control Room (CCR) or field.
- Enforce site-wide safety protocols, including isolation/tag-out procedures (LOTO), permit-to-work systems, and emergency response coordination.
- Supervise plant operators and junior engineers, ensuring shift handovers are thorough and team productivity is maximized.
- Monitor key plant metrics (e.g., heat rate, output, emissions) and initiate corrective actions if deviations occur.
- Act as the Incident Commander during equipment failures, fire incidents, or grid-related emergencies; execute startup/shutdown procedures according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all activities remain within the constraints of the plant’s environmental permits and regulatory reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent vocational/technical certification in power plant operations with experience in power plant operations
- Deep knowledge of combined-cycle power plant processes, including gas turbine operation, steam systems, water chemistry, and electrical distribution
- Experience operating a Distributed Control System (DCS) (e.g., Mark VIe, Ovation, or similar)
- Strong leadership, critical decision-making under pressure, and excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the commissioning and startup phase of a new power plant project
- Demonstrated history of successful troubleshooting in high-stakes operational environments
