Job Mission
As a member of the Algeria Country Management Team, the Public Affairs, Corporate Communications & Sustainability Manager will lead ECCBC's external engagement, reputation management and sustainability agenda in the country. The role serves as the primary interface with governmental, institutional and community stakeholders while providing strategic insights on the external environment and supporting business growth through responsible and sustainable practices. The position plays a key role in strengthening ECCBC's reputation and licence to operate in Algeria.
Key Responsibilities
Public Affairs & Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and implement ECCBC Algeria’s Public Affairs and stakeholder engagement strategy.
Identify, map and engage with key governmental, institutional, industry, community and NGO stakeholders.
Build and maintain trusted relationships with public authorities and external stakeholders.
Monitor the Algerian regulatory, institutional, political and socio-economic environment and assess its potential impact on the business.
Provide the Country Management Team with relevant external intelligence, insights and recommendations.
Corporate Communication & Reputation
Develop and coordinate ECCBC Algeria’s external corporate communication activities in alignment with Group and The Coca-Cola Company priorities.
Monitor media and digital channels, identify emerging issues and provide regular reputation reports and recommendations.
Coordinate corporate messaging, media relations and senior management visibility.
Support the management of sensitive issues and reputational risks.
Sustainability & Community Engagement
Coordinate the local implementation of ECCBC’s sustainability priorities, with a focus on recycling, water and community empowerment.
Develop relationships with relevant NGOs, community organisations and institutional partners.
Identify and coordinate initiatives that strengthen ECCBC’s contribution to local communities and its social licence to operate.
Risk Management & Business Support
Identify external regulatory, institutional and reputational risks and maintain an external risk/issues map.
Work cross-functionally to develop and implement mitigation plans for external barriers affecting the business.
Represent ECCBC in relevant external forums and support key business projects from a Public Affairs perspective.
Monitor and report Public Affairs, Communication and Sustainability activities through established Group tools and routines.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in Public Affairs, Government Relations, Corporate Affairs, Corporate Communication or related disciplines.
Proven experience engaging with senior governmental, regulatory and institutional stakeholders.
Strong understanding of the
Algerian institutional, regulatory and business environment
.
Established stakeholder network and proven ability to build relationships with senior external stakeholders.
Strong communication, negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
Experience in reputation, issues and/or crisis management.
Good understanding of sustainability and community engagement.
University degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Political Science, Business, International Relations or a related field. Postgraduate degree/MBA is a plus.
International and multicultural experience is an advantage.
Fluent or highly proficient in
Arabic, French and English
