Key Responsibilities :
- Provide on-site direction for heavy equipment rigging, mechanical assembly, and alignment of turbines and generators.
- Assist in mechanical verification, including lubrication system flushing, hydraulic system testing, and structural integrity checks.
- Ensure all installation activities follow Gas Power OEM technical manuals, drawings, and engineering procedures.
- Champion EHS initiatives in a high-hazard environment, ensuring all personnel follow site-specific safety protocols during heavy lifts and high-pressure system installations.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical discrepancies or interference issues in real-time, working closely with engineering teams to minimize project delays.
- Maintain meticulous records for QA/QC requirements, including bolt-torque logs, alignment readings, and clearance measurements.
- Travel extensively to power plant sites, often for long-term assignments.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline with experience in gas power plant installation, outage management, or field service.
- Deep understanding of gas turbine mechanical systems, gas/oil piping, thermal insulation, and rotating equipment alignment.
- Proficiency with laser alignment tools, torqueing/tensioning equipment, and reading complex mechanical schematics.
- Hands-on experience with specific turbine models, e.g., HA-class, 7F/9F.
- Experience leading third-party mechanical contractors and site subcontractors.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical commissioning processes for combined-cycle power plants.
