Key Responsibilities :
- Technical Oversight: Supervise the installation of industrial HVAC equipment, including air handling units (AHUs), chillers, filtration systems, and ductwork for plant structures and electrical buildings.
- Commissioning & Testing: Lead the testing and balancing of HVAC systems, ensuring proper air pressure, temperature, and humidity control, particularly in sensitive areas like the Control Building and Switchgear Rooms.
- System Integration: Oversee the integration of HVAC controls with the plant’s Building Management System (BMS) and/or Distributed Control System (DCS).
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce rigorous site safety standards, including working at heights, confined space entry (for ductwork inspections), and handling of refrigerants in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Documentation: Review mechanical drawings and specifications; maintain accurate installation logs, inspection records, and commissioning reports.
- Team Leadership: Manage HVAC subcontractors, ensuring workmanship meets quality standards and project milestones are achieved on schedule.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Technical diploma or degree in HVAC Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experienced in industrial or large-scale commercial HVAC installation and service, ideally within a power plant or heavy industrial facility.
- Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of industrial ventilation, chillers, refrigerant management, and air-filtration systems for harsh environments.
- Certifications: EPA 608 Universal Refrigerant Certification or equivalent trade licenses
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with clean-room requirements or positive-pressure environments often found in power plant control rooms.
- Background in identifying and resolving vibration or noise issues related to large-scale industrial ventilation fans.
- Familiarity with fire and smoke damper testing and integration with plant life-safety systems.
