Summary – Basic Function Of The Role
We are looking for a skilled and hands-on Mechanical Technician to join our workshop team based in Résidence Eurojapan, Hassi Messaoud, Algeria. The role is responsible for repairing, inspecting, troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining hydraulic equipment and related tools. The Mechanical Technician will carry out equipment disassembly and reassembly, replacement of components, operational testing, calibration and accuracy testing, while ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
Repair hydraulic equipment, including disassembly, inspection, troubleshooting, replacement of parts, reassembly, and operational testing.
Prepare equipment and complete equipment request orders, including job preparation.
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment repairs and accurately document all work completed.
Perform and document calibration and certification of accuracy testing on products and equipment.
Use gauging and measuring devices and perform required quality inspections.
Follow relevant work procedures and instructions using the appropriate company systems.
Build and maintain standard tools as required.
Pick and pack equipment, tools, and materials as required.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
Operate forklift trucks and VNA equipment safely, where trained and certified.
Perform additional workshop duties as required.
Skills And Competencies
Strong mechanical and hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read and follow technical work procedures and instructions.
Good understanding of mechanical equipment, components, and workshop practices.
Ability to use measuring and gauging equipment accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
Practical, hands-on approach to problem solving.
Ability to support continuous improvement and identify opportunities to improve workshop processes.
Education And Experience
Technical qualification or vocational training in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Maintenance, Hydraulics, or a related discipline.
Previous experience in a mechanical or hydraulic workshop environment is preferred.
Experience with hydraulic equipment repair, maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing is highly desirable.
Experience with calibration, accuracy testing, gauging, or quality inspection is an advantage.
Forklift and VNA certification is preferred, or willingness to obtain the required certification.
Experience using electronic systems to access work procedures and document completed work is an advantage.
